When I say image/gimmick I mean for example: Slipknot's masks, bands
where the members have silly nicknames, artists like Marilyn Manson
who wear 10 lbs of makeup, or Emillie Autumn's "insane Victorian
English girl" persona thing or whatever. I think that it's completely
unnecessary. I feel that if you have good music then you don't need
all that "alter ego" stuff.
Yeah, I'm not trying to bash the bands, I'm just using these examples
since they personify what I'm trying to say.
