The cult children's TV show aired in the late 1980s and included characters played by the latePhil Hartman and Laurence Fishburne. The Pee-wee Herman Show was broadcast as an HBO special in March and garnered three Emmy nominations. Reubens is developing a new Pee-wee Herman film, which is being produced by Judd Apatow and is set up at Universal. Reubens also has acted in non-Pee-wee roles. His film credits include Batman Returns, Blow and Reno 911!: Miami. Reubens also starred in Todd Solondz's Life During Wartime and has guest starred on 30 Rock and Pushing Daisies.
